Giclées

Giclées: Alternatives to Owning Art

gi·clée

/ZHēˈklā/

a technology for fine art reproduction using a high-quality inkjet printer to make individual copies.

Our premium giclées are printed in the USA on high quality canvas or heavy watercolor paper, and hand-signed and numbered by the artist.

Gallery Wrapped Giclée

A canvas gallery wrap giclée is hand-stretched on heavy duty stretcher bars and is ready-to-hang and easy to clean.

Fine Art Paper Giclée

A giclée printed on watercolor paper has more of a matte finish, capturing the essence of original works in water media, and like water media requires a frame with protective glass or acrylic covering it.

Why Should I Buy a Giclée?

An advantage of the giclée printing process compared to the traditional offset lithograph method is the archival quality. Giclée colors will not fade or dull over time, transcending from a print to a treasured heirloom. Properly cared-for giclées can last over 100 years!
  • We use premium, American-made canvas that is built to be archival.
  • Giclées are then printed with multiple coats of high-quality archival ink.
  • Canvas Giclées are finished with 4 coats of varnish. The first coats reinforce the gesso'd canvas and the topcoat stays flexible as it ages and prevents cracking on the surface. The varnishes we use are hand-mixed and have been developed and perfected over years of experimentation to ensure the best possible quality and longest lifespan.
Please allow 2-3 weeks for printing, stretching and shipping when ordering giclées, unless it is already in stock.
